Baseball Stadium at Devon and Kedzie

For more than 6 decades, the former Thillen’s Stadium, now Baseball Stadium at Devon & Kedzie, has hosted Little League games for Chicago youth, including the Chicago Park District's Inner City Little League. 

 

The Stadium’s legacy includes utilizing a centerfield camera that is now a staple on all baseball game telecasts. The Ballpark also erected lights in the 1940’s in order to host night games, decades ahead of Wrigley Field.

 

In 2005 the Chicago Park District assumed the land lease and accepted a donation from the Chicago Cubs organization. Amenities such as permanent concessions and bathrooms were added to the facility that already included bleachers, free parking, field lights, scoreboard and PA.
